Rugby, ND!

 Hey Everyone!

It has been so COLD here! I believe this last weekend was in the Negatives and with wind chill pretty close to -30 degrees! Then on last Friday, we went to a bonfire on the airforce base at 2 degrees! I don't know who has a bonfire in the January in North Dakota, but it was fun to say we did that! There were little marshmallow children everywhere! it was so cool.

I have been in another Trio for the last three weeks with Sister Clark and Finlinson. They are the sisters serving in my greenie area. I am still the 2nd ward sister. We have been running both wards, and I will forever be grateful for a companion because being the only sister in your ward who knows what is going on is crazy. Thankfully we have Elders too:)

Now, I am going out to Rugby ND to be in a new trio with two sisters that I already know, Sister Davis and Wright. I am really excited to go out there. I have been there once to visit the sisters. it is about an hour out of Minot to the East and about 30 minutes away from the CA border. It is so cute and small and I am excited to serve in a small town. I do know that it is famous for being the very center of N America. so that is cool.

Anyways I will let you know more next week on how the world is outside of Minot.

Christmas Is Here:)

Hey All:)

I hope you all are having an amazing Christmas Season! This has been a pretty good week!
Last Monday we met a really cool guy named Steve! He was so casual. He opened the door and stood there in his underwear and ate his green beans while we talked for about 1.5 hours. He is so smart! he has read part of the Book of Mormon before and the Karan. But he said that he want to try it out again and that if he finds that it is the true then he will be baptized and be a Mormon. I loved the attitude he has about it all and the church. He doesn't really care about like what everyone says about the church He just wants to find out what is the true because there can only be one true church. I loved it! we are kind of nervous because he is so smart but that will be okay:) that is what the Spirit is for!

We met with the Boully Family. Which is the less active Family that wouldn't let anyone in and always looked out the blinds at us when we came. I cant remember if we told you about them but we had them on our 21day challenge. Which is to pray for some list of less active or nonmember people for 21 days morning and night without missing a prayer and the promise is that someone on the list will accept missionary lessons. on day 17 they reached out to Bishop and we are now teaching them the lessons for Holden the 9 year old investigator! they are an amazing family! the best is when I called out the oldest son for not answering our calls and then Sister Jarvies was like "yeah and we totally saw ya'll look out the window at us like every time." hahaha It was so awkward. we all laughed so that was good! They are so fun! we love them!

We got to meet with a young couple and talk about our loving Heavenly Father. John doesn't believe in GOD but in a higher power...who is loving and fatherly like..so I don't know what ya'll think that God is but that's what I thought. So that is what we are trying to help him understand for now;)

We met another investigator this week named Charlene. She is super sweet and loved the Promise in Moroni 10. I am really excited to get to know her and learn with her. It was pretty funny there too....She was telling us how she only doesn't like the catholic church because they kicked her nephew out for being Gay.. so I looked at S. Jarvies like I wanted her to tell Charlene what we think about that.....but then I just felt so bad because she looked scared to death... So I just told Charlene that God understands all of us have our own Struggles and that even though He doesn't tolerate them that He still will love and help us....so Yeah  I Hope that I didn't open a can of worms by not being bold about it.... but we will find out.

We had a great week! and we are excited to see what this next week brings! I hope we can continue to spread the good work this week with Minot:)

Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you all have a chance to remember what Christmas is really all about!:) I love you all:)

Love, Tay Sister A

By Small and Simple Things

Hey All!

It was a long and great week! We met with Miss Shelby again this week and realized something great! we have been meeting with her for a good amount of time now and it was easy to think that we were never going to get anywhere with her! It wasn't until the night after our lesson with her that we realized something huge. As we were talking in our beds that night and thinking about what we could do to help her progress it dawned on us. Shelby has been progressing the whole time. We began to realized that Shelby might not be make leaps and bounds in progression but that her countenance had changed. We had gone from a sad, dark, girl who loved to read witchcraft to a girl who smiles and tells us about her dreams, and reads the Book of Mormon, even if it is just a verse or two. It was huge for me to realize that miracle in her! That over time she had changed! That our changes dont have to be huge and immediate but that we sometimes the most meaningful changes are the ones that take time. I think there is a reason that we live a whole life time instead of just one day. We came here to learn and to change:)

We finally got some snow up here in the Dakotas and It is crazy! It definetly feels like it is wintertime now! Bring on the snowball fights and hot chocolate!:) Hope that it continues to fall so that we can get the fully experience of North Dakota this year:)

We have been having a wonderful time learning more about a Savior and about this christmas season!:) I hope you all can have a wonderful season and enjoy Christ Spirit throughout the season:)
